Why we started

This journey began almost 55 years ago (late bloomer in the ecommerce world). That, as they say is history, but if we look closely enough (pattern recognition aside), history does repeat itself. My neurodivergence was evident my whole life (as it usually is). I am the grown version of the "creative" youngest child.  Being deeply sensitive, endlessly curious, a little bit ditzy (though I'd never admit it), very chatty (with not much common sense), as a young girl, was "expected".

Until 1994, only boys could have autism, ADD/ADHD, dyspraxia, dyslexia, dyscalculia, etc. There were many signs throughout my life. Fast forward to peri-menopause and my fourth major burnout and my diagnosis of AuDHD, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, came in staggered bits and pieces. Along with that, the shattered pieces of who I had 'coped' to be. Resigning my Executive Management corporate job, was one of the hardest decisions I've made (and ruminated over). Enter the pandemic 6 months later, and we all know what happened with jobs after that, especially for 50 year old women.

There's not enough space on this page to reflect on the past few years, but The Creative Genius has been in my heart and life for many years, before then. Art wasn't considered a means to earn an income. But we all know creativity is the living version of science and maths . My love of creativity, stationery, all things sparkly, and needing just another journal to get my life on track...led to the opening of this shop.

Dedicated to the Curiosity, Creativity and Courage of Little Me, and reminding and encouraging you of yours, too.

BIG hug (if you're a hugger)
